Newcastle United player ratings as 9/10 teenager scoops star man while £59million duo struggle
Newcastle United 18-year-old Lewis Miley ran the show for the Magpies on FA Cup third round day.
The Magpies fell behind after eight minutes when Cameron Congreve swept home from outside the box after Newcastle failed to deal with a routine punt forward. It was Dreamland for Bromley but their joy lasted just eight minutes before a well-worked United equaliser.
Harvey Barnes and Matt Targett linked up on the left before Lewis Miley fired home a similar long range strike to restore some order. Targett won a penalty after the break when he was chopped down at the Leazes End before substitute Anthony Gordon converted with one of his first touches from the spot.
The game was sealed when William Osula lashed home after a fine run down the right with Miley and Bruno involved heavily.
Here's how the Newcastle stars rated against Bromley:
Martin Dubravka 7
Howe showed his faith in the Slovakia star by starting with him. Brought that calm assurance with him again. Not least after the shock of going 1-0 down.
Kieran Trippier 7
Steered the team through after early error for Bromley opener when full-back should have cleared Toon lines. Otherwise steady.
Fabian Schar 7
A much needed run out after a two game ban.
Lloyd Kelly 6
A so, so display. Dan Burn will be back for Wolves.
Matt Targett 8
Given his time on the sidelines he will have enjoyed this. A hand in the opener and then won a penalty in a positive 69 minute spell. Had 85 touches in total.
Joelinton 7
Stamped his authority but went off for the fresh legs of Bruno at the break.
Sean Longstaff 6
Minutes in the tank at least.
Lewis Miley 9
Ran the show with a hand in two goals and scored first half rocket. Over 100 touches and 100 passes.
Harvey Barnes 6
A disappointing afternoon in truth. A hand in the goal but managed one cross and lacked a clinical touch in the box. Walked off at half-time with his head down and did not return.
Miguel Almiron 5
A wasted opportunity. Made no impact.
William Osula 8
After a tough first half in which he struggled to get much change out of the Bromley defence, he delivered a special goal for his maiden Toon strike. Caused the initial opening for the first goal too after positive run.
Subs

Helped get a professional job done.
