Newcastle United player ratings as record breaker scoops 10/10 in Wolves thrashing
Alexander Isak soared further into Newcastle United greatness by surging past Alan Shearer and Joe Willock into the record books by scoring in his eighth consecutive game.
The Magpies took the lead after a fantastic run from the left by Isak before he shimmied his way into the danger area and stuck a shot off Rayan Ait-Nouri to score his eighth goal in eight Premier League games. Isak collected his second after Bruno Guimaraes' slotted him in on 57 minutes before the Sweden star turned provider to hand Anthony Gordon a tap in.
Here's how the Newcastle players rated against Wolves:
Martin Dubravka 7
Stayed calm and composed. Breathtaking save to stop Strand Larsen and keep a birthday clean sheet.
Tino Livramento 9
Was on point with some timely interceptions and tackles.
Sven Botman 7
Got through the 90 minutes but still does not look fully fit.
Dan Burn 7
Battled hard and kept up good form.
Lewis Hall 8
Another champagne display down the left. Fizzes in crosses for fun.
Joelinton 7
Solid if unspectacular at times.
Bruno Guimaraes 8
The driving force from the middle. Weighed in with an assist for Isak.
Sandro Tonali 8
A steady display as he helped make things tick in midfield.
Jacob Murphy 8
Tortured Wolves from the word go. A big hand in the opener for Isak.
Anthony Gordon 9
An assist and a goal. A constant threat on the night.
Alexander Isak 10
The history maker. Two goals and an assist from one of the world's hottest strikers right now. The man of the match was roared off.
