Bruno Guimaraes put in a world class display against Manchester United with 92 touches to win the midfield battle at Old Trafford.

However, he was one of three stars who earned 10/10 as Newcastle turned on the style against the Red Devils. After creating a dozen goal attempts, this was a night to remember for Toon fans.

The opener came after slick work in midfield from Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali before Jacob Murphy and Isak got involved further upfield. Bruno then sprayed a fantastic pass from right to left for Lewis Hall who crossed confidently in the box for Isak to power home the first.

It was 2-0 on 19 minutes when Gordon allowed him to cut the ball on to his right foot before Joelinton rose high and buried a header past Onana after the ball had flicked off Lisandro Martinez.

Didn't have too much to do but worked well under pressure.

Kieran Trippier 8

Gave it everything he had the tank with a commanding display before being dealt an injury hammer blow. Managed 59 passes and stayed on the front-foot before being replaced by Livramento.

Fabian Schar 7

Putting aside his lapse in concentration that almost let in Casermiro, this was a sturdy display from the Swiss star. Late booking blotted copy book.

Dan Burn 8

A towering display from the Blyth lad. He's in fine form.

Lewis Hall 10

Had Newcastle fans singing his name throughout. United picked up an absolute bargain from Chelsea. A fine assist and demonstrated exactly what he's all about.

Joelinton 9

A bruising display with a vital goal.

Sandro Tonali 10

Had a hand in both goals and watched one clang off the post. Another top notch display.

Bruno Guimaraes 10

A world class display that had Newcastle fans drooling. Man of the match.

Jacob Murphy 8

Ran himself into the ground and got some joy down the right.

Anthony Gordon 8

A wonderful assist for Joelinton and looked a threat throughout. They had the Man United defense terrified at times.
