Newcastle United release statement as midfielder is recalled from loan deal
Newcastle United have recalled Jamie Miley from his loan deal with Newport County.
The youngster will spend time with Eddie Howe's first-team squad as the club assess his next move, potentially a second loan deal for the rest of the season. The 20-year-old made eight appearances for the League Two side after impressing Howe in pre-season.
Back then he was involved in a clutch of first-team matches including the tour of Japan when Newcastle triumphed 4-1 against Urawa Red Diamonds. The older brother of Lewis Miley has six months left on his current contract.

A Newcastle statement read: "Newcastle United midfielder Jamie Miley has been recalled from his loan spell with Newport County.
"The 20-year-old joined the Sky Bet League Two club on loan last summer and made eight appearances in all competitions for the Welsh club with six of those coming in league fixtures.
"Before heading out on loan, Miley featured in the first-team in pre-season, playing in the friendlies against Hull City, Urawa Red Diamonds and Girona."
The eldest of the Miley brothers, with Lewis and younger brother Mason also on board at the Academy, had told Chronicle Live his aim for now is to play alongside Lewis. "Definitely," he said. "Hopefully one day but obviously everything is different and things happen at different times. I’ll just take things one step as it comes. I'm so proud of Lewis and what he done last season.
"Obviously I wasn’t playing because I had my knee injury so I was just in the stands watching. Like I said to him and my family, I can’t watch the games with anyone like I used to because I used to go watching as a fan but now it’s watching Lewy so it’s brilliant."
