Newcastle United star Alexander Isak speaks out on Swedish TV as Merson sorry for Arsenal talk
Alexander Isak has called playing for Newcastle United a 'dream' - which has been made 'extra special' by the club's fan base.
Isak has certainly looked like someone who is enjoying life on Tyneside. In fact, only Alan Shearer has ever bagged more Premier League goals in a calendar year for Newcastle than the Magpies' record signing.
Isak picked up from where he left off in 2024 after scoring what proved to be the winning goal against Spurs on Saturday - just 24 hours after Eddie Howe branded speculation about the striker's future 'irrelevant'. It comes after Paul Merson questioned whether Newcastle could 'turn down' £150m for Isak when Arsenal supposedly 'have the money'. Merson also appeared on Sky Sports on Thursday to state that Isak would be a 'massive coup' for Arsenal and help take his former side to 'another level' before the 56-year-old apologised to Newcastle fans.

Isak, however, insisted that he felt 'very good' at Newcastle and the Sweden star once again paid tribute to Wor Flags for a display he will 'truly remember' after the fan group saluted him at St James' Park a couple of months ago.
"Playing football at this level has always been a dream and probably the main dream that I've had," he told Prime Video Sverige. "Playing in the Premier League for a club like Newcastle with a fan base like they have here is extra special."
