Newcastle United star eyes England revival as he approaches 200 game milestone for Magpies
Newcastle United winger Jacob Murphy has been offered hope that he could win a full England cap later this season.
Murphy's international career ended with the Three Lions Under-21s when he helped Aidy Boothroyd's side to the semi-finals of the European Championships before England lost to penalties. Murphy signed for Newcastle in 2017 and should make his 200th appearance for the Magpies this weekend against Fulham.
But the big statistic that has been bandied about after the win against Southampton is that Murphy now has eight assists to his name this season. Murphy is one of the most in-form players in English football right now with Thomas Tuchel appearing at Newcastle games since his appointment.

Murphy would love to join the likes of Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon in the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia at Wembley.
Howe told Chronicle Live: "Thomas will no doubt be looking carefully at all of our players that qualify to play for England. He has been at a number of games.
"Yeah, Jacob is in good form. My message to him is to continue in the vein he has been. He is creating a lot of goals and chances for the team. He also could have scored more himself.
"He's been unlucky a few times. Jacob is a great character, great lad and I really wish him well and hope he can carry on where he has left off."
Murphy sits in the top 15 all-time for Newcastle appearances in the revamped English top-flight having played 171 games for the club in the Premier League.
He has formed an excellent alliance with Alexander Isak this season, and the two players have got the most productive relationship in the league this season. Murphy's fine form has meant that Newcastle were able to let Miguel Almiron leave the club this month, with Murphy establishing himself as Howe's first choice on the right wing.
