Newcastle United star Lewis Hall names his biggest influence in Toon dressing room
Lewis Hall has hailed Kieran Trippier as one of his key role models at Newcastle United - insisting he is learning from the ex-England star's clinical delivery techniques.
Hall was outstanding in the 4-0 win over Leicester City at the weekend at St James' Park and his forming an exciting full-back partnership with Tino Livramento. It is a combination that could be a success story for years to come for both Newcastle and England.
Still just 20, Hall knows that he is far from the finished article, but has insisted he is learning in training every day from the likes of Trippier. Only 12 months ago, Hall had to wait patiently for his opportunity as Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe helped him brush up on the defensive side of his game - and that process is now paying dividends.

Hall told reporters on Saturday night: "I’ve worked a lot on the defensive part of my game but that’s not to say I’ve not been working on the attacking side as well. I think that Tripps is a really good role model. Even though he’s on the other side of the pitch, the positions that he gets into are ones that I’d like to get into as well.
"The way that he delivers the ball is something that I’ve taken note of. Obviously I want to be my own player, but I do take some parts of his game and see if I can put that quality into mine."
Hall's rapport with Livramento is one thing but he linked up superbly down the left with England team-mate Anthony Gordon to help create two goals in the rout against the Foxes. Hall said: "You want partnerships all over the pitch and I really enjoy playing with Ant because he’s obviously a fantastic player.
"Sometimes it can make my job easier a little bit by giving him the ball. He does a lot of work on and off the ball and I really enjoy working with him."
