Newcastle United are two games away from nightmare scenario amid familiar Eddie Howe worry
Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton will be looking to avoid picking up yellow cards in the forthcoming games, with the Brazilian now just two bookings away from being handed a two-match suspension.
Joelinton has been shown a yellow card eight times, so far, this season. Premier League rules state that any player who is booked 10 times in the club's first 32 games of the campaign are automatically handed a two-game ban and the 28-year-old is among those most at risk across the top-flight - offering a familiar worry to Eddie Howe.
The midfielder has featured in all-but one of Newcastle's Premier League games so far this campaign - and his one absence came due to suspension after picking up five yellow cards. It meant he was forced to sit out the 4-0 away win against Ipswich Town back in December.

Since that game, he has been shown a yellow card on three occasions, including in first-half stoppage time in Saturday's loss against Bournemouth. It means that Joelinton will now have to be careful for the remaining 10 matches before the 32-game cut-off is reached.
The Magpies are back in action on Saturday when they will look to bounce back from the disappointment of their defeat against Bournemouth against Southampton at St Mary's Stadium. Newcastle then host Fulham at St James' Park the following Saturday.
A booking in both of those games would see Joelinton then given a two-game ban. He wouldn't however serve it until the Premier League match against Man City on February 15, with him available for the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Arsenal and the FA Cup fourth round vs Birmingham City - even in that scenario.
