Newcastle United continued their impressive run of form with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

United recorded a 2-1 win away at Spurs to secure their sixth consecutive win in all competitions. Goals from Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak secured the victory in North London as Newcastle closed the gap on their top-four rivals.

Eddie Howe's team remain in fifth place in the Premier League table but will now take a break from top-flight action as they prepare to face Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. After that, Newcastle will take on Bromley in the third round of the FA Cup before eventually returning to league duties later this month.

The win over Tottenham will give Newcastle confidence they can qualify for the Champions League for the second time in three years. Fifth place could be enough to qualify for the tournament depending on where England ranks in UEFA's coefficients this term.
