Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have reportedly identified Liverpool star Mohamed Salah as a potential replacement for Neymar. Both players are out of contract at their respective clubs at the end of the season.

It is reported that no talks have taken place between Al Hilal and Neymar over a new contract with the Brazilian expected to leave at the end of the season. Inter Miami and Santos have been named as possible destinations.

Salah has admitted that there is ‘no progress’ on a new deal with Liverpool. As he enters the final six months of his current deal, he is able to talk to oversea clubs about a possible summer move.

"Do I believe this is my last season? So far, yeah. It's the last six months," Salah told Sky Sports. "There is nothing, no progress there and we are far away from any progress, so we just need to wait and see.

"I think the thing in my head is like: OK if this is your last six months or year, what do you want to see in the future? Do you want to look back and say I was concerned about the contract or stressed? Or just that I had an unbelievable season? That is in my head now all the time.”

Spanish outlet AS now claim that Al Hilal have targeted Salah as the main target to replace Neymar when the summer transfer window opens. There has been a lot of talk about interest from Saudi teams in the player in previous windows.

It has previously been reported that Al Ittihad were prepared to pay more than £100 million to take Salah to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023. The Egyptian didn’t however want to move, something that could be good news for Liverpool in their hoped of him extending his stay at Anfield.
