'Nice to see Sparky making tweaks' - Blues fans on Colchester draw
Carlisle United fans gave us their views on X after the 0-0 draw with Colchester United - here is a selection of their comments.
Starting to look like a team now. Hughes seeing things weren't working so changed things up and it helped! A valuable point against an inform opposition, however the fact they can't score is still the biggest issue. (@A_HonchoYT)
Much better second half giving belief. Nice to see Sparky making tweaks during the game. Point is a starting point and onto the next. (@kai_thompson9)
Much more encouraging second half performance. Hughes showing he is not afraid to change things when the original plan does not work. However, we are running out of games to get points and it's vital that we get a win soon. (@CoachKGaming)
Getting better, 1st half i thought Colchester were the better side but we were better 2nd just need to find a goal or 2. Positives to take out of that one. (@Tomw0892)
Scoring goals is obviously a concern, but that's an excellent performance today, much improved. Less sideways pointless passing, no farting about the back. Plenty of fight, heart and endeavour, if we keep performing to this standard wins will come. (@Piglet_Phoenix)
Getting better but highlights major flaws in recruitment. Great to have a manager who can change things but only got me thinking of what could have been if Hughes takes over after Boxing Day and has a window. (@ryanhoggarth180)
Remember Jimmy Glass. Imagine a whole season that only turns in the 94th minute of the final game. Fans need patience, team is picking up. Great game management to reset 2nd half (twice). Wish he'd had the transfer window, as still need a striker. Next 7 games are crucial. (@adydent67)
Some excellent saves have cost us a few home wins this season. (@Heathencufc)
They are unbeaten in 17 games so they are hard to beat . Very good in the second half and some fantastic goal keeping (@vanqate)
Much improved. Still lacking a presence upfront though (@AndyMortonPark)
We’re again not scoring but didn’t lose. During Hughsie tenure at Bradford they were difficult to beat and didn’t score a lot. (@fatflags)
Sparky lights the blue touch paper but not till the second half. We looked disjointed in the first with some bits of quality, second half changes and a good team talk galvanised them, but the elephant in the room remains NO Goals, the 2 xGs could have been Gs except for their GK...PS nice one Gabe ..top class stop! (@LindaNi121202)
Oh for a centre forward!!! (@BillArm20246451)
Not enough unfortunately (@cufcaidan)
It's was nice to see us not capitulate/ throw it away in the 2nd half, which was my fear, but did say before h/t it had 0-0 written all over it. There were a lot of positives to take from the game, we must carry it on into the next game and get the 3 points (@skythelimit1970)
Not at the game but 'played well, didn't score' sums up our main problem. Yes we got a point, but Morecambe won again, and Tranmere came from behind, so we probably got the least momentum out of the games today in the relegation mini-league. (@MikeEwins)
