Nine more Liverpool players could leave in January transfer window
Tick tock, tick tock. So continues the countdown to the January transfer deadline which, somewhat confusingly this season, is on Monday, February 3 at 11pm.
As is fast becoming the norm in these days of Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, there hasn't been much movement so far this month among top-flight clubs, save Manchester City splashing the cash given the realisation their first-team squad lacks depth compared to, well, almost all of their near rivals.
It would be a surprise - if not an entirely uncharacteristic one, given the shock capture of Luis Diaz three years ago - if Liverpool were to strengthen their personnel during the remaining days of the transfer window.

But while that eventuality cannot be entirely ruled out, far more likely is the sight of players leaving Liverpool before the window, as is customarily the case, slams shut on Monday week.
Among those, though, will not be Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold or Virgil van Dijk, the trio now in the last few months of their existing Liverpool contracts with ongoing talks having thus far failed to reach an agreement over an extension. All three, though, have intimated they will at the very least see out the remainder of their deals at Anfield.
Academy goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga left at the start of the month to return to Fluminense in Brazil, while homegrown midfielder Tom Hill this week joined League Two side Harrogate Town on a permanent deal.
But it also appears unlikely Wataru Endo or Federico Chiesa will depart with both having been given minutes during the last few weeks as Slot starts to increase reliance on his full squad. Darwin Nunez has reportedly been attracting interest from Saudi Arabia and AC Milan, but there is no chance Liverpool will entertain a sale this month.
There could, however, be a decision that needs to be made over the future of Tyler Morton should an offer for a permanent transfer be received. Morton has had minutes in the League Cup and FA Cup this season but hasn't featured at all in the Premier League, with the 22-year-old midfielder having stated earlier this month he may have to be selfish over the next move in his career.
Any other departures are almost certain to be temporary. Calvin Ramsay has already been recalled from his loan at Wigan Athletic and will spend the rest of the season at Kilmarnock in Scotland, while Rhys Williams has extended his loan deal at League Two side Morecambe until the summer.
Kaide Gordon has been recalled from a loan spell at Norwich City and is attracting attention from a number of other Championship clubs.
Jayden Danns and James McConnell have featured for the first team in the last six weeks - the former scoring in the FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley - but could be allowed to leave on loan should a suitable offer be forthcoming, most likely from the Championship.
And Academy trio Harvey Davies, James Norris and Dominic Corness, who all had spells on loan last season, would most likely be granted another temporary exit.
