Nine players Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham have been linked with in January transfer window
Wrexham have yet to take a dip into the January transfer market - but it could be just a matter of time.
Phil Parkinson's side are in a strong position as they sit third in League One heading into the second half of the season. The club's owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have signalled the manager will be well backed as they chase a third successive promotion.
One area of the pitch where Wrexham seem keen to strengthen is up front, with talisman Paul Mullin struggling for goals so far this season. The striker underwent back surgery during the summer and bringing in another forward to take the weight off his shoulders could prove pivotal.

The Red Dragons often leave it until late in the transfer window to do business, and it wouldn't be a surprise if it's the same again in January. Parkinson has declared himself happy to bide his time in order to get the right players in.
Despite the lack of activity so far, Wrexham have been linked with a range of targets this month. Here, Wales Online takes a look at the faces who could potentially turn up at the Racecourse over the next two weeks.
Patrick Bamford
One of the biggest names linked with Wrexham in January is Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford. Despite previously shining for his team in the Premier League, the 31-year-old has yet to make a start for the Championship club so far this season and has failed to score in his 10 substitute appearances.
The Red Dragons were said to be ready to splash the cash to sign him, but Bamford was recently hit by a major setback after suffering a hamstring injury, which could make a move unlikely.
Michael Smith
One of Parkinson's main transfer targets during the summer was Sheffield Wednesday striker Michael Smith. However, the Championship side ultimately chose to keep the target man at Hillsborough.
Smith has grabbed five goals for the Owls this season, despite often appearing off the bench. With his contract due to expire this summer, revisiting the move this month might be an attractive proposition for all parties.
Joe Gelhardt
Another Leeds player Wrexham are said to be keen on is Joe Gelhardt. The 22-year-old striker has plenty of promise but looks set to join Hull City, as per Hull Live.
Given he's staying in the second tier, Gelhardt would certainly have been something of a coup, although he has only recently returned from injury.
Cauley Woodrow
Reports have also emerged that Wrexham could be about to sign Luton Town forward Cauley Woodrow, a former England U21 international. The ex-Premier League striker has made just one start for the Hatters in the Championship this season, with a move to north Wales now possible, according to Football Insider.
The 30-year-old, who also played and scored in the top flight for Fulham before joining Barnsley, featured 24 times for the Kenilworth Road side last term, mostly off the bench. His only goal of the campaign came in the 97th minute of a 1–1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in March 2024.
Jayden Danns
Jayden Danns is an ambitious target, even by Wrexham's standards. The Liverpool youngster scored for his club only this weekend in their 4-0 FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley.
A loan move is said to be the preference if a deal for the 18-year-old was agreed. However, there are likely to be a whole host of Championship sides waiting in the queue alongside them.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has said he does not know if Danns will leave on loan before the end of the month. He explained: "The last thing (going out on loan in January), I don't know at the moment. For us, it was all about the players who hadn’t played that much yet, to give them playing time."
Harry Cornick
Bristol City forward Harry Cornick could potentially join Wrexham in January. It follows his current manager Liam Manning confirming the 29-year-old will be allowed to explore his options during the transfer window.
The former Luton man, who can play either up front or on the wing, has yet to play a single minute in the Championship this season. With Cornick out of favour at Ashton Gate, journalist Darren Witcoop claims in a post on X that Wrexham are ready to swoop, with League One rivals Charlton Athletic also said to be keen.
Dylan Levitt
A recent name to crop up is that of Hibernian midfielder Dylan Levitt, who hails from north Wales. The 23-year-old has been somewhat of a forgotten man for the Scottish Premiership outfit this season, but impressed in their 3-1 win over Motherwell at the weekend.
Levitt said he was unaware of speculation linking him to Wrexham when asked after the game, as per Hibs Observer. He insisted he'd be cheating himself if he didn't remain fully committed to Hibs.
He said: "As a professional footballer, if you don't put in your best in every session, I think you're only shooting yourself in the foot. You need to give 100 per cent every day. When called upon, you need to perform how you would in training and work hard towards it."
Ryan Hardie
One signing which would really see Wrexham required to spend big is that of Plymouth Argyle striker Ryan Hardie. A £2m price tag has been set as the Red Dragons are reportedly preparing to do battle with League One rivals Huddersfield Town to acquire the 27-year-old's services.
The Scottish forward signed for the Pilgrims in 2020 and has scored 64 goals across 230 appearances during a period in which the club has risen from League Two to the Championship. Hardie's tally includes 12 goals in the second tier during Plymouth's first campaign back in the division last season.
Ethan Wheatley
Wrexham and Stockport County were previously said to be ready to do battle in a bid to secure the loan signing of Manchester United's young talent, Ethan Wheatley, during the January transfer window. The two League One clubs have been rivals since their days in the National League, where Stockport were promoted as champions ahead of Wrexham.
According to the Wrexham Insider, the Red Dragons are determined not to lose out to Dave Challinor's team again over the striker. But Stockport may feel they have an edge in the race for Wheatley, given that the striker was born in their town.
