It’s been pretty slow going on the transfer front for Coventry City so far this month with Frank Lampard yet to make his first new signing since taking charge at the Championship club.

But what about outgoings? The Sky Blues have already been the subject of interest from Blackburn Rovers who were widely reported to have been keen on centre-back Liam Kitching and striker Brandon Thomas-Asante earlier in the window. Lampard, however, insisted he wants to keep his senior players together at his stage of the season, and has handed both of the above runs in the side in recent games.

The only other front line player to be the subject of on-going speculation is Milan van Ewijk, who was initially linked with interest from Galatasaray and now Fulham – The Mirror, ESPN in the Netherlands and, more recently, the Evening Standard, have all claimed the Cottagers have the Dutch defender on their radar.

Asked by CoventryLive if the club have received any bids or inquiries for any of his players this month, the head coach said: “No, we haven’t and on Milan, I genuinely haven’t seen that. And he’s just a good player, and our player.”

Lampard admits, however, that he’s not surprised Van Ewijk has been linked with interest from elsewhere, adding: “He’s an attacking full-back and with all the natural attributes he’s got I think he can get even better as well because there will and are things we work on with him to improve all the time. So it’s no wonder when he’s playing this way that teams will look at him.

“But with Milan, there certainly hasn’t been any bids. I would have been told that (if there had been) and maybe it’s just that he’s a good player.”
