'Not going to' - Why Kyle Walker is not in Man City squad to face Brentford
Kyle Walker has been left out of another Manchester City game as he looks for a move away from the club.
The captain went to sporting director Txiki Begiristain last week to ask to explore options abroad for the final year of his career, and he was duly left out of the matchday squad for the FA Cup win over Salford City. Pep Guardiola said he had taken the decision to leave Walker out after the transfer request, although did not confirm that it was the end of his City career.
Asked if he would be considered for selection again, Guardiola appeared on Saturday to say that it would depend on what happens in the transfer market. Ahead of the game with Brentford, the manager said that Walker had a chance of being included if he trained well on Monday.

"We'll decide after training. I said what I said and I'm not going to add anything else," said Guardiola. "I don't have anything else and Brentford is on my mind."
However, the veteran defender was not part of the 21-man squad that turned up in West London for a crunch Premier League game. Matheus Nunes is starting a second successive game at right-back, with Guardiola saying he is happy with the options he has got if Walker does leave this month.
City have also agreed fees for two young centre-backs to arrive this month: Abdukodir Khusanov will arrive from Lens and Vitor Reis from Palmeiras once their moves have been completed. Meanwhile, the Blues are looking to win three Premier League games in a row for the first time since October but face a Brentford side who have racked up 22 of their 27 points this season at home.
