Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Everton in today’s Premier League clash.

The Reds go into their final match of 2024 looking to make it five wins on the spin. They saw off Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at the City Ground on Boxing Day to record four successive Premier League victories for the first time since 1995.

Anthony Elanga scored for a third consecutive game to clinch the three points last time out. Forest are fourth in the table ahead of kick-off, and whatever happens this afternoon are guaranteed to be in the top four of the top-flight at the turn of a year for the first time since 1987/88.

Midfielder Ryan Yates is not involved against the Toffees as he is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the win over Spurs. Nicolas Dominguez, back from his own ban, returns to the XI as one of two changes with Morato also in the side as Callum Hudson-Odoi misses out on the squad.

It means Forest will revert to a back three of Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Morato ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. Ola Aina and Neco Williams will take up the wing-back roles.

Morgan Gibbs-White seems likely to partner Elliot Anderson in the middle of the pitch. Dominguez seems likely to start on the left and Elanga on the right of striker Chris Wood in a 3-4-3 formation.

With Yates ruled out, the Reds’ impressive record of having a youth-team product in every matchday squad since 1941 was at risk, however Nuno has named Zach Abbott on the bench to keep the run going. Carlos Miguel, Taiwo Awoniyi, Harry Toffolo, Eric Da Silva Moreira, James Ward-Prowse, Jota Silva, Ramon Sosa and Willy Boly will make up the list of substitutes.

Forest: Sels; Milenkovic, Murillo, Morato; Aina, Anderson, Gibbs-White, Williams; Elanga, Wood, Dominguez. Subs: Miguel, Awoniyi, Toffolo, Moreira, Ward-Prowse, Jota, Sosa, Boly, Abbott.
