Nottingham Forest boss Nuno springs a surprise as he names team to face Brighton in key clash
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Brighton and Hove Albion in today’s key Premier League clash.
The Reds go into the game at the City Ground eager to bounce back after seeing their nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions come to an end. Nuno’s men were very much below par as they were on the wrong end of a 5-0 rout at Bournemouth last weekend.
The Portuguese has called on his team to show a response this afternoon. There is certainly no need for panic as Forest are still third in the table prior to kick-off and remain on course for a special season.

The Reds are once again without winger Callum Hudson-Odoi as he remains sidelined with a groin injury. Nuno has made three changes to his line-up, with Morato and Danilo in as Ryan Yates and Jota Silva drop to the bench. It is a first start for Danilo since he made his comeback from the broken ankle he sustained on the opening day of the campaign.
Morato’s inclusion means a change to a back three, with the Brazilian set to line up alongside Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. Danilo will partner Elliot Anderson in the centre of the pitch, with Ola Aina and Neco Williams as wing-backs.
It could be either a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 formation for the Reds. If it is the former, Anthony Elanga and Morgan Gibbs-White will operate either side of striker Chris Wood.
There is a place on the bench for midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, in his first inclusion in a match squad since August after recovering from a hamstring problem. Carlos Miguel, Taiwo Awoniyi, Nicolas Dominguez, Alex Moreno, Jota, Yates, Ramon Sosa and Willy Boly will make up the list of substitutes.
Forest: Sels; Milenkovic, Murillo, Morato; Aina, Danilo, Anderson, Williams; Elanga, Wood, Gibbs-White. Subs: Miguel, Sangare, Awoniyi, Dominguez, Moreno, Jota, Yates, Sosa, Boly.
