Nottingham Forest exile has 'point to prove' after quickfire transfer deal
The up-and-down career of Josh Bowler continues after his loan spell at Preston North End was cut short, but the Nottingham Forest winger has "a point to prove" as he makes a quickfire switch to Luton Town.
Reports first emerged on Friday the 25-year-old may be moved elsewhere as he struggled to find a place in Paul Heckingbottom's plans at Deepdale. He only managed 660 minutes across 13 games in all competitions this season.
In search of regular first-team football, Bowler was quick to find a new temporary home. His move to Luton marks his fifth loan move since signing for Forest in 2022 - including Olympiacos, Blackpool, Cardiff City and PNE.

But his new manager, Matt Bloomfield, is excited to work with the winger and believes he has "a point to prove".
Speaking to Luton Town 's media team, Bloomfield said: "Josh is someone with vast Championship experience at a number of different clubs. He’s a real creative spark at the top of the pitch, making chances for others and he can finish too.
"He’s got a point to prove and wants to play in a formation that we are looking to use. He’s shown a lot of hunger and desire to come here and he’s someone we are really happy to have on board."
The Hatters are finding life back in the Sky Bet Championship difficult as they sit in 23rd place and three points from safety. Such a dire situation that saw Heckingbottom replace Luton legend Rob Edwards, who famously guided the Bedfordshire outfit to the Premier League for the first time in their history in 2023.
Back-to-back relegations could definitely be on the cards, so it is hoped the addition of Bowler will help them steer clear of the dreaded drop zone. Luton have been busy in the January window so far, signing Christ Makosso, Isaiah Jones, Kal Naismith, Thelo Aasgaard and Millenic Alli on top of the Forest winger.
