Nottingham Forest hope Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi will both be fit to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Monday.

The duo missed last Sunday’s 2-0 victory away to Everton due to injury. Winger Hudson-Odoi was not included in the match squad at Goodison Park due to a dead leg sustained against Tottenham Hotspur, but teammate Murillo had been set to start against the Toffees.

However, the centre-back felt his adductor muscle during the warm-up on Merseyside and pulled out of the starting XI. He was replaced in the line-up by Ramon Sosa as head coach Nuno Espirito Santo changed his intended formation by swapping from a three-man defence to a four.

“Much better. They are much better,” Nuno said of Hudson-Odoi and Murillo ahead of next week’s trip to the west Midlands.

“I think they will be available. Tomorrow we will decide, but I think they are going to be OK.”

Nuno is also hopeful long-term absentees Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare will soon be back involved. The former has been sidelined since the opening game of the season with a broken ankle while fellow midfielder Sangare has been out since September with a hamstring problem.

Danilo stepped up his recovery when he joined in a non-contact training game with his teammates ahead of the clash with Ipswich Town in November, and the Reds have been gradually increasing the level of contact he is subjected to since then. Neither player will be involved against Wolves, however.

“Danilo is getting better and better. Monday is too soon but he is almost (there),” Nuno said. “His teammates are respecting by not going very hard on him, but he is doing better and better and better.

“Ibrahim is close. He is on the pitch now, working individually and getting his fitness back. Hopefully he is going to join us very soon.”
