Nottingham Forest injury update provided as Nuno makes key Liverpool point ahead of fresh test
Midfielder Ibrahim Sangare is edging closer towards making his Nottingham Forest comeback.
The 27-year-old has been sidelined since September after undergoing hamstring surgery. However, he is making good progress in his recovery as he targets a return to action by the end of the month.
The Reds have recently welcomed back Danilo from a long-term absence after he broke his ankle on the opening day of the season. The Brazilian made his first appearance since that day when he came off the bench against Luton Town in the FA Cup last weekend.

Danilo was not involved in the midweek 1-1 draw with Liverpool, and Nuno Espirito Santo has given little away about whether he will be among the substitutes again when Southampton visit the City Ground on Sunday (2pm kick-off). The Forest head coach is pleased with having a largely fit squad for a crucial part of the campaign, though.
“We are assessing players from the previous game. Danilo is coming back and Ibrahim is closer. We have a healthy squad, thank God,” Nuno said ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Tuesday night’s stalemate with the Premier League leaders saw the Reds put in a mammoth effort. By the end of the game, some of the players looked dead on their feet after many of them had covered more distance than in any other match this season.
Nuno has stressed that Forest cannot afford to be complacent as they go from playing the team at the top of the table to the one at the bottom. But he is confident fatigue will not be an issue when it comes to deciding who will start against the Saints.
“They were tired! They are recovering because it was a very intense game but they are OK,” said the Portuguese.
“It is the same dilemma as I have every game - trying to figure out the best decisions and solutions for the game. We have almost every player available and a healthy squad. In terms of timing, we have time to recover well.”
