Nottingham Forest star rejected January transfer exit
Nottingham Forest winger Ramon Sosa reportedly rejected overseas interest in the January transfer window in order to stay at the City Ground.
A summer arrival for around £9m, Sosa has been eased into life at Forest, making 14 Premier League appearances but just one start. Signing a five-year contract, the Paraguayan is keen to make the move work.
Christian Martin of Paraguay’s Nacion Media told Versus that European clubs outside the Premier League made enquiries over the 25-year-old during the winter market. But, both Sosa and Forest turned away those approaches and the winger remains a part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

Sosa will hope to feature more regularly in the second half of the season as Forest push to qualify for the Champions League. There’s the FA Cup to play for too, and Sosa could start against Exeter in the fourth round on Tuesday night after scoring one and setting up the other in the third-round victory over Luton last month.
Asked after that game if Sosa had taken his chance, Nuno said: “It’s not about taking chances. We know some of the players need more time to settle down, but all the players who come in are having an impact on the team. They showed again that we have a good squad and we are ready to go.”
With Anthony Elanga, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jota Silva as competition in the wide places, and with Elanga especially in great form, Sosa faces a battle to get more regular Premier League outings in the second half of the season.
