Nottingham Forest transfer latest as 'shake up Premier League' claim made amid Yoane Wissa update
Nottingham Forest reportedly have serious competition for the signature of Brentford striker Yoane Wissa.
Strengthening head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s forward options before the January window closes is a priority for the Reds. They have until 11pm on Monday (February 3) to get any deals over the line.
Wissa is one of the names on their wish-list and a bid for the 28-year-old has already been rejected. Forest have been tipped to put a fresh offer on the table, but it seems they are not the only club eyeing up the Bees ace.

According to Foot Mercato, Tottenham Hotspur have “entered the race” for Wissa. The Reds’ Premier League rivals are said to have “initiated contact” with Brentford and have also made the player himself aware of their “interest”. The report states it is the kind of information “that will shake up the Premier League” ahead of transfer deadline day.
Forest’s opening bid for Wissa is said to have been in the region of £18-22 million. Bees boss Thomas Frank has been clear in his stance that the player is “not for sale”.
“There is a lot of rumours,” he said last week. “For me, again he is a Brentford player and in my opinion Wissa is not for sale. He has been our leading number nine and done fantastic, so I cannot see why we should sell him."
Earlier this week, Wissa confirmed he is aware the Reds have their eye on him. He insisted he remains focused on adding to his 12-goal haul for Brentford so far this season.
In a translated interview, he said: “There is an interest, there is an interest. Possible transfers in progress, I cannot say. But it’s true that there has been interest since this summer. They are having a very good season and I too am continuing my momentum. It's true that for the moment I'm focused on Brentford but we'll see what happens.”
Nuno currently has Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi as his out-and-out striker options. The former has been in fine form this term but Awoniyi has found the net only once and has struggled for regular minutes.
In addition to Wissa, Forest are also said to have made an offer for Botafogo striker Igor Jesus. However, reports from Brazil claim the player rejected a move to the City Ground.
