Nottingham Forest transfer window ins and outs as deadline day looms
The January transfer window has proved to be a fairly quiet one for Nottingham Forest so far.
It was never likely to be a particularly hectic month. After all, the Reds went into the winter window with a good squad already in place and with little fat needing to be trimmed.
If anything, the club was well aware of the risks of too much tinkering having a detrimental effect amid their push to secure European football. As the deadline approaches, there is still a careful balance to be struck between strengthening head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s resources and disrupting the solid foundations already laid.

Sensible and considered business will be the order of the day, building on the work done back in the summer. Every decision will be weighed up carefully.
“It is not easy to operate in this market, especially because we only consider options that can improve us. It is not easy,” Nuno has said.
“Not only for us, for all the teams it is a very tricky market in terms of recruitment. That is why I say, we look the other way around and let’s keep our players here.”
Incomings and outgoings are possible before the window closes at 11pm on Monday. Below is a round-up of the deals Forest have done so far.
Incomings
Wayne Hennessey (free agent) - contract signed until the end of the season.
Outgoings
Aaron Donnelly - Dundee, undisclosed fee.
Andrew Omobamidele - Strasbourg on loan until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.
Esapa Osong - Cambridge United loan until the end of the season.
