Nuno Mendes to Manchester United transfer truth emerges as Ruben Amorim handed update
Manchester United-linked Nuno Mendes is reportedly set to sign a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as United look to strengthen at left-back, but the club are not actively pursuing the left-back this month. Mendes previously played under Reds head coach Ruben Amorim at Sporting.
While United are expected to be in the market for a left back in the summer, Mendes is currently a regular starter for PSG and is currently contracted until 2026.

And the Portuguese full-back now looks set to remain in Paris for the foreseeable future. French publication L’Équipe claim that PSG boss Luis Enrique has been instrumental in convincing him to extend his stay at the Ligue 1 champions.
The Reds will need to strengthen at full-back in the summer, particularly on the left, with Luke Shaw enduring another injury-hit campaign at M16. Tyrell Malacia, meanwhile, has struggled under Amorim and faces an uncertain future at United, with reports in the Dutch media on Saturday claiming he has reached an agreement to leave.
But United's PSR position means they will have to sell if they are to significantly rebuild the squad in Amorim's image. The sale of any academy player is deemed fair game with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo linked with a move away.
Over the past few days, Rashford has been heavily linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan with his brother and agent Dwaine Maynard supposedly speaking to the Italian side. Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Catalan club Barcelona have also been linked. Chelsea meanwhile have shown interest in Garnacho and Mainoo.
