Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner will be without Eberechi Eze for Sunday’s trip to Manchester United.

The 26-year-old picked up a foot injury in December’s Carabao Cup defeat to Arsenal, which he has continued to struggle with.

Glasner explained that Eze will be left out of the matchday squad to face Manchester United in an effort to get the attacker 'pain-free'.

Eze has started 19 of Palace’s 23 league games this season and has registered seven goal contributions.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Glasner also confirmed that Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure will both be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

"Several pieces of bad news at the beginning of the week," Glasner said. “After further assessments, Cheick needed surgery on his knee, and Chadi ruptured his ACL. We’ve lost both for the rest of the season and Chadi even longer. Cheick, we hope, will maybe return for pre-season.

"Two long-term injuries. We also will miss Eberechi on Sunday. He’s struggled the last weeks and months. He got a knock in the cup game at the Emirates. Since then he always had pain, training, not training, playing, us taking him off.

"Last week, he almost didn’t train the whole week, this week, it started again. We decided we wanted to get him pain-free so he is able to perform at his best level. He won’t go with us to Manchester tomorrow.

With Palace handed three injury blows, Adam Wharton and Matheus Franca could return to the matchday squad sooner than expected.

“Adam Wharton and Matheus Franca trained with us the whole week without any issues. Both will maybe be in the squad on Sunday, because they were both very impressive in training, lifting their confidence and mood after being out for several weeks.
