Olympic medals today: What is the medal count at 2024 Paris Games on August 1?

American gymnasts Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee will make history at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Thursday as soon as they step on the mat.

For the first time in the women's Olympic all-around final, two all-around Olympic champions will face off against each other. Both happen to be from the same country: The United States. Lee is the reigning all-around champion after winning gold at the Tokyo Games in 2021, while Biles brought home the all-around gold in Rio in 2016. Both Biles and Lee already won gold alongside the "Golden Girls" in the team final on Tuesday.

American swimmers Regan Smith and Lilly King are back in the pool for the women's 200-meter butterfly and women's 200-meter breaststroke, respectively.
