The 2024 Paris Olympics march on, and men's basketball has gotten off to a hot start. France nearly suffered a massive upset loss to Japan. Germany has proven to have one of the most electric offenses in the tournament. Spain managed to slow down Giannis Antetokounmpo just enough to earn a victory over Spain.

Even though the Americans remain heavy favorites to take home gold, there are a lot of competitors that could give the U.S. a run for their money.

There's still a lot of competition left though. People can get hurt. Teams can fall apart. Upsets can happen. We're still a long ways from the gold medal game on August 10. Here's how the standings look after the first few days of competition.
