Olympics basketball games today: USA vs France highlight Paris Games slate

One of the biggest events at the 2024 Paris Olympics will see the men's basketball final featuring the host nation France taking on Team USA, the overwhelming pre-competition favorite.

Team USA trailed Serbia by 17 at one point, but — sparked by Steph Curry's 36 points — came roaring back in the second half to clinch a 95-91 semifinal win. In Thursday's other semifinal, France held Germany off in a tight 73-69 contest, avenging a 14-point loss to the same opponents in the group stage. That means we'll see a rematch of the 2020 Olympics final, which the United States won 87-82.

Olympic men's basketball has been dominated by the U.S. over the years, with Team USA claiming 16 gold medals out of 20 Olympic tournaments. A win on Saturday would be a fifth straight Olympic gold medal for the United States.

Here is everything you need to know about Saturday's medal games at the Olympics basketball competition.
