'One of our greatest' - Leeds United quartet's city centre night out details revealed
As greatest night outs go, not many people would include a straightforward cinema-restaurant double-header. Josuha Guilavogui and three of his Leeds United team-mates are not ‘many people’ however.
Perhaps we all need to sample the company of Guilavogui, Illan Meslier, Wilfried Gnonto and Isaac Schmidt before passing judgement on such proclamations. The former has not been here long, but recently detailed this showstopping night out with his comrades.
“I will just tell you one of our greatest nights we had,” he told the club’s programme. “We organised a dinner. It was with Illan, with Willy, Isaac and me. We went to a restaurant after we had a walk in Leeds and around the city and we went to the cinema to see Gladiator.”

Presumably aside from Denzel Washington’s unmentioned brilliance, Guilavogui was most taken with having his colleagues out together in a social setting. The veteran says it is very uncommon for this kind of gathering.
“This is not typical in a football team,” he said. “Sometimes you see the guys every day, so you say ‘Okay, I don’t want to see you anymore,’ but not here.
“We took the time to go out together to have dinner, to go to the cinema. We are just normal people and we are enjoying our life and we are going out, going to the cinema and this is really good to have some time away from football together.”
Guilavogui previously told LeedsLive about his burgeoning relationship with Meslier and Schmidt as fellow French speakers in the squad. Gnonto ran to Guilavogui to celebrate after scoring against Middlesbrough the other night too.
