One for Wenger? Leyton Orient look to cure their fox in the box problem

Calling Arsene Wenger: Leyton Orient could have the perfect job for you.

The National League side have appealed for help from fans in ridding their Brisbane Road pitch of unwanted animals – especially foxes.

And who better than to expel a fox in the box than Mr Wenger, the boss who created and destroyed one of his own in 2001 when bringing in and then jettisoning Francis Jeffers from Everton?

Wenger has insisted he wants to stay in football after leaving the Gunners following 22 years in charge.

The Orient had a torrid first season outside the Football League and flirted with relegation before edging clear.

But even before a ball has been kicked in anger this time round, the East London outfit have called on dog walkers to circumnavigate the ground with male hounds during mornings and late evenings in a bid to alleviate the problem.

“It’s thought a dog’s presence will help prevent further pitch invasions,” Orient said in a short statement.

Interested candidates have been told to apply to the club’s marketing department – unless the dogs want to do it themselves!
