Oxford United chasing further transfer boosts before Blackburn Rovers
Gary Rowett is hopeful Oxford United will have more new signings to face Blackburn Rovers after a busy week in the market.
Tom Bradshaw becomes the Yellows' latest addition, signing from Millwall. He is a striker that Rowett knows well from his time at The Den and could make his debut on Saturday.
Ryan Longman is set to sign from Hull City, another Rowett alumni, whilst forward Ole Romeny from FC Utrecht and Chelsea midfielder Alex Matos have signed too.
“I know Ed [Waldron, head of football operations] is spending every waking hour speaking to agents and clubs, trying to sign players. We’re certainly very proactive," Rowett said.

“How close we are, I don’t know. We’d hope to maybe get one or two more bodies in before the weekend. That would be the hope, but you never know.
“I spent all afternoon looking at players in the hotel room. That’s what we want to do, we want to strengthen the group.
“The more times we lose a body, it just furthers that need and that desire to do that. It’s one of those things as a manager, I can sit here and stamp my feet, and say I need six players, but the reality is that it’s not as easy as that.
“We’ve got really good people working at the club, and we’re all trying to strengthen the squad as effectively as we can.”
Oxford defender Sam Long is 'touch and go' for the weekend's game after being withdrawn against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night. Joe Bennett could return from a long-term ankle injury and Romney could be involved for the first time too.
