Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett has revealed his next fight will be announced soon as he prepares for his first bout as a ranked UFC fighter.

The 29-year-old has not fought since defeating Bobby Green by submission at UFC 304 in July and recently told the ECHO he was aiming to win the lightweight title in 2026.

Now, Pimblett (22-3-0) has teased the announcement of new fight details, revealing he and his opponent have agreed terms and are just waiting for the bout to be signed off by the UFC.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pimblett said: "People who have been speculating about who I'm fighting, this and that. I'm coming for the belt, so I'm looking for higher-ranked fighters.

"I've said yeah, the opponent has said yeah. We just need to get stuff signed."

The Huyton-born MMA star broke into the UFC rankings for the first time after his impressive submission of Green earlier this year, his sixth consecutive victory since signing for the promotion in 2021.

Speaking about his title ambitions earlier this year, Pimblett said: "I've seen a lot of people saying I'm like two fights away from a title fight and that is nice.

"But two fights from a title shot would have to be like (Renato) Moicano, ranked 10, then do like an (Sean) O'Malley, fight rank two straight away, that'd be (Charles) Oliveira.

"I'd do that, I'd fight Moicano, beat Moicano, then I'd fight Oliveria. That's probably my quickest route to a title shot, to be honest. I really like watching both of them fight so it would be a pleasure to, even more of a pleasure to be in there with Charles. A former champ, someone who I've watched for years and years.

"It would be an honour to get in there with Charles and a pleasure. But you know, they're just in the way of me getting the belt, so I'd have to run through them."

Pimblett signed a new six-fight contract with the UFC back in July.
