Chelsea return to action on Saturday evening (kick-off: 5:30pm) away at reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

Enzo Maresca's team ended a five-match winless run in the league last time out against Wolves to move back up to fourth. They face a City side this weekend who blew a two-goal lead to lose 4-2 at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Both teams have their injury problems but it is Chelsea who are likely to have more players absent. Below, football.london has the latest injury news from the club ahead of a busy and important few weeks.

Cole Palmer

Injury: Ankle.

The Chelsea forward played 84 minutes against Wolves and had one of his quieter matches. After the game Maresca admitted that he was still enduring pain in his ankle after taking a knock against Bournemouth. He had been listed as one of the doubts pre-game.

What Maresca said: "He is better, he is better. He did an unbelievable effort to play against Wolves and he is getting better."

Possible return date: Manchester City (A) - Saturday, January 25.

Levi Colwill

Colwill was one of those who didn't train prior to facing Wolves. He was not included in the squad either and was not seen at Stamford Bridge.

Injury: Unknown.

What Maresca said: "Probably Levi and Enzo could be ready (o face Man City). It depends on today's session."

Possible return date: Manchester City (A) - Saturday, January 25.

Enzo Fernandez

Injury: Muscular.

Initial reports claim that Fernandez's injury is not thought to be too serious with the midfielder likely to play against City.

What Maresca said: "Probably Levi and Enzo could be ready (o face Man City). It depends on today's session."

Possible return date: Manchester City (A) - Saturday, January 25.

Wesley Fofana

Injury: Hamstring.

Fofana has been out since early December after yet another injury issue. He had to go off against Aston Villa and Maresca revealed earlier this month that he feared the defender could miss the rest of the season.

He is now back outside at Cobham and in partial training, football.london understands. His return will be extremely carefully managed.

What Maresca said: "For sure, Wes is a huge loss. I don't think this kind of injury can be compared to the rest.

"This one is muscle and previously he hasn't had any muscle problems, so it's completely different. It's a bit unlucky, but he will be back and he will be good in the way he was before he was injured."

Possible return date: April.

Romeo Lavia

Injury: Muscular.

Lavia is back on the sidelines for Chelsea and faces several more weeks out of action. Reports suggest that the midfielder will not immediately return to the team after also missing training.

What Maresca said: "We don't know yet [when he will return]. We will wait a little bit more. At least I think a few weeks more."

Possible return date: March.

Benoit Badiashile

Injury: Thigh.

Possible return date: February.

Omari Kellyman

Injury: Thigh

Possible return date: Unknown.
