Paris Saint-Germain plot transfer talks with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford
Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has suggested the club could look to sign Marcus Rashford this summer.
The Manchester United forward is approaching the end of his contract at Old Trafford and will be free to talk to foreign clubs in January.
PSG have signed a number of high-profile players on free transfers of late, with the summer of 2021 seeing them bring Georginio Wijnaldum, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lionel Messi to the Parc des Princes at their end of their respective contracts.
Messi has been linked with a move to MLS side Inter Miami this summer, potentially opening up a space in Christophe Galtier’s squad.
Al-Khelaifi revealed in an interview with Sky Sports that PSG had been in contact with Rashford before and hinted they could revisit such interest this summer, suggesting talks could place after the World Cup.
"He’s another player that is really amazing," said Al-Khelaifi. "And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.
"We’re not hiding it, we spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe, summer, why not?
"Today if he’s a free agent of course we can talk to him directly but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested we will talk to him.”
