Patrice Evra retires: Instagram star's best posts as former Man United and Juventus star calls time on career

Patrice Evra has retired from football at the age of 38, with the social media expert finally waving farewell to the game.

After joining Manchester United for £5.5million in 2006, Evra made 273 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring three goals.

He retires with a career haul of five Premier Leagues, three League Cups, three Serie A titles and a Champions League.

However, Evra may be best remembered for his Instagram exploits; with 6.1 million followers on the platform, the Frenchman often uploads bizarre, weird and wacky videos.

His posts have varied from the hilarious to the borderline terrifying - including singing and strangely, sucking a raw chicken’s toes.

In celebration of the motivation maestro himself, here are five of Evra’s most bizarre posts.

The Chicken

You knew this had to come up, right?

The now infamous video was uploaded to the site in November 2017, and was done to celebrate the American holiday Thanksgiving.

We can think of some better ways.

It provoked a huge reaction on Twitter, with an overwhelming feeling of disgust spreading among those unfortunate enough to see the video.

Evra posted an apology for his actions saying, in his own words and inimitable style, it was ‘a little bit nasty nasty’.

He added some people ‘found it funny, some people found it weird’. Well, I know what one I am.

Monday Motivation: DJ Khaled edition

Evra’s Monday madness has become a regular feature of Instagram to kick-start the working week.

In this edition, he opted to sing DJ Khaled’s ‘I’m the one’.

Singing for Paul Pogba

Evra is enamoured with his compatriot Paul Pogba.

Maybe because they both are France internationals, maybe because they played together at Juventus.

Either way, Evra’s passion for the World Cup winner culminated in the 38-year-old singing him a song to cure the ‘Monday blues’.

This is the level of optimism we all aspire to.

Singing for… himself?

Judging by how much effort the full-back put into singing for Pogba, the amount of effort that went into his own birthday song must have been something else altogether.

Well, judge for yourself.

Singing in the… bath?

We all sing in the shower from time to time, but the United legend took that to new extremes by posting a video of himself singing in the bath.

It’s safe to say if you dislike this man, you simply dislike life.
