Wing-back Patrick Dorgu has said he sees his impending move to Manchester United as "an opportunity" ahead of finalising his switch from Italian club Lecce.

The Danish international has been filmed arriving at an Italian airport this morning (Saturday) and will fly to Manchester to complete his move to Old Trafford ahead of Monday night's 11pm transfer deadline.

United have been locked in talks with Lecce for the best part of a fortnight and the deal is now on course to be completed ahead of the window closing.

Dorgu, 20, was an unused substitute as Lecce beat Parma 3-1 in Serie A on Friday night, marking the first league game this season that he had failed to start when being available for selection.

Asked by Sky Italy if he is "excited" about making the switch to Old Trafford, Dorgu said: "Yes, it is an opportunity for me."

Following the victory over Parma, Lecce manager Marco Giampaolo confirmed Dorgu would be flying to Manchester on Saturday, admiting he left him out of the team as his mind may already have been on matters at Old Trafford.

"It's true, Patrick Dorgu will be flying to Manchester on Saturday," said Giampaolo. "He's a fantastic player and guy.

"He always did his best for us. I didn't play him tonight as his mind could be already there, Old Trafford."

Dorgu is expected to undergo a medical over the weekend ahead of putting the finishing touches to the move that will see him become the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era. It is understood United have agreed an overall package with Lecce worth just under £30million.
