New Manchester United wing-back Patrick Dorgu is relishing the prospect of playing alongside fellow countrymen Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund at Old Trafford.

The Denmark international was United's second and final addition of the January transfer window, joining the club from Italian side Lecce on Sunday in a deal that is worth an initial £25million.

The 20-year-old has been added to head coach Ruben Amorim's squad in the hope he will help United solve their left-sided wing-back troubles. The Reds have lacked balance on that side of the pitch for much of the season amid the absence of a left-footed player.

Dorgu is expected to establish himself as a long-term operator in the left wing-back role after being identified as a suitable fit for Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system. And the former Lecce man is "looking forward" to playing with fellow Danes Eriksen and Hojlund.

"I'm looking forward to playing with them," Dorgu said. "I already played with them with the national team, so it's going to be good to play with them here as well."

On joining United, the Dane continued: "It feels amazing to be part of the family. I'm very excited to get going.

"I have heard about the incredible support and I'm happy to be one of the players of United now. It's a huge club. It's the biggest club in England and I'm really looking forward to working with the new manager and I feel the system suits me really well. So I'm excited to be here."

Dorgu, who could make his United debut when Leicester City visit Old Trafford in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday evening, has claimed the No.13 shirt, meaning he will wear the same shirt number as he donned during his time at Lecce.

"I had it since I came to Lecce," added Dorgu, explaining why he has claimed the No.13 shirt. "I think it's good to keep going with what's going good so I think, yes, No.13 is working really good for me at the moment."
