Patrick Dorgu has told Man United what they want to hear amid transfer talks but there's a catch
Manchester United transfer target Patrick Dorgu has said that he’s open to a move to the Premier League - despite admitting that he is a Chelsea fan.
It is reported by the Athletic that United are in talks with Serie A side Lecce over a potential January deal for the 20-year-old. United are expected to have to move players on to be able to bring anyone into the club this month, but a move for Dorgu is reportedly being lined up.
The report adds that an agreement is yet to be reached between the two clubs but talks are ‘progressing’. Dorgu has a contract that runs until 2028.

There was a lot of talk over the defender’s future last summer, with Chelsea among the clubs to be credited with an interest. Speaking back in April last year, Dorgu admitted that it was a ‘dream’ to move to Stamford Bridge, but also made it clear that he wouldn’t rule out a move to another Premier League club.
“I don’t spend that much time on it,” he told Danish outlet Flashscore about the transfer speculation. “There are always rumours and my agent has been approached, but right now I am under contract in Lecce and then we’ll see what happens.”
He added: “I have been a Chelsea fan for many years, so of course it’s clear that it is a dream. That’s not to say I can’t switch to other teams in the Premier League, but even if things aren’t going so well for them right now, they’re my team.”
Dorgu has started all but one of Lecce’s Serie A games so far this season, only missing the one because of suspension. He has score three times and provided one assist in these appearances.
The club currently sit in 16th in the Serie A table, one point clear of the bottom three. They are next in action on Sunday when they take on Inter Milan at home (5pm kick-off).
