Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes have become one of the "it" couples in the NFL. And they've known each other a long time.
The now-legendary Kansas City Chiefs QB and the soccer player — back when she was known as Brittany Matthews — were friends back at Whitehouse High School in Texas. But then they kept dating through college while Mahomes was the QB at Texas Tech.

Fair or not, almost everything with Mahomes is framed against his pursuit of Brady and the title of greatest ever. This was supposed to be another step in that direction. Instead, Mahomes is stalled, however temporarily.
If there’s one thing Kansas City learned from the loss, it’s that cracks in the foundation existed long before Sunday night. And the Eagles were the vastly more talented team.
Allen has to be wondering if he’s the Charles Barkley of his era, a surpassing talent with the bad luck to be born into a time when the generation’s greatest talent is in charge.
