Paul Scholes airs true Celtic feelings as Rangers humiliation draws grin from Jamie Carragher
Paul Scholes has warned Bayern Munich that Celtic can topple ANY European giant at fortress Parkhead.
The Hoops are unbeaten across all competitions at home this season - an incredible run stretching back to December 2023. Brendan Rodgers' winning machine also picked up 10 of their 12 Champions League group phase points in Glasgow, regaining some pride on the European stage. Now, they'll have to create history to book their place in the last 16 in the Premiership leaders' toughest challenge yet.
Celts have never beaten Bayern in four previous encounters, losing 2-1 at Parkhead before going down 3-0 at the Allianz Arena in 2017. And while the Scottish champions have earned impressive results on the road to Atalanta and Dinamo Zagreb, Scholes believes Celtic can send shockwaves across Europe with another famous night under the lights.
Speaking on The Overlap Fan Debate, he said: "When I think of Celtic in the Champions League and European competition, I think they can beat anybody at home. Not a problem. But they always got beat away. It seems like they've got a little bit more solid away from home."
Meanwhile, sidekick Jamie Carragher had a wry smile as he discussed Rangers' humiliating Scottish Cup exit to Queen's Park. Philippe Clement is clinging onto his job at Ibrox after crashing to arguably the worst result in the club's recent history. And speaking to 'Quinny' from CeltsAreHere, Liverpool legend and self-confessed Hoops fan Carragher smirked as he asked: "You must have enjoyed that yesterday, though. Is that one of the biggest shocks of all-time in Scottish football?"
Treble-chasing Celtic were handed a Scottish Cup quarter-final clash with Hibs at Parkhead. Championship Queen's Park were drawn away to Aberdeen, Dundee visit Hearts and Livingston host St Johnstone for a place in the semis at Hampden.
