Paul Warne confirms worst Derby County fears amid Eiran Cashin expectation
Derby County head coach Paul Warne has issued an injury update on Rams duo Kane Wilson and Dajaune Brown.
The pair both suffered injuries during the midweek Championship defeat to Sunderland at Pride Park. And Warne has ruled them both out of action this weekend when Derby face a huge clash towards the bottom of the table against Cardiff City (3pm kick-off).
“There’s no chance I foresee Kane and Dajaune (playing),” he said in his pre-match press conference on Thursday. “Both have got hamstring injuries, both are sore and both are awaiting results on their scans, so I’d be amazed if one or either make it. So those two will be missing.”

Eiran Cashin is expected to return to the Rams’ defence against the Bluebirds after being left out against Sunderland. The decision to omit him from the squad was taken because the club felt he was not ready to play back-to-back matches only a few days apart, having only returned from injury last Saturday against Watford.
Warne also confirmed Ryan Nyambe and on-loan David Ozoh are in contention to return to the squad after injuries.
“I think both are very close to being included in the squad this weekend so that’s really positive,” he said. “We’ll see how they train today. The early signs are really good.”
Derby are one place and one point below Cardiff in the Championship table, in 21st, ahead of their meeting at the Cardiff City Stadium.
