Paul Warne sends Kane Wilson message amid Derby County contract question
Derby County head coach Paul Warne says he is yet to hold talks with Kane Wilson over a new contract.
The full-back has been in exceptional form in recent weeks but his current deal expires at the end of the season. Wilson scored in a 4-0 win over Portsmouth before Christmas and has proven to be an important attacking outlet for Warne's side.
He is one of eight Derby players who are free to leave the club in the summer, including midfielder Liam Thompson, long-serving defender Craig Forsyth, last season's top scorer James Collins and striker Conor Washington.

"I haven't had a conversation with him yet, purely because I have no brain space in January," he said. "But I will definitely be reviewing all those contract things come February. He just needs to keep playing really well and the conversation will be nicer."
Wilson has played 22 games this season and was on target in the opening game of the campaign, a 4-2 defeat at Blackburn Rovers. Since arriving from Bristol City in the summer of 2023, Wilson has scored five goals in 75 games.
