ADRIAN PAZ AND MAURICIO TARICCO

The South American duo had contrasting spells at club after signing in a joint transfer from Argentinos Juniors and Estudiantes de La Plata respectively in 1994.

Paz became the first Uruguayan to play in the Premier League but failed to make his mark, scoring just once in 18 games. He would depart Town after just one season.

Taricco struggled to adjust to English football at first but went on to become a cult hero at Portman Road, making close to 200 appearances for Town.

The Argentine scored some memorable goals against Man United and Norwich City, before he was sold to Spurs for £1.75m in 1998.

SIXTO PERALTA

The Argentine midfielder signed on loan from Italian giants Inter Milan for the 2001/02 season, where he was a bright spark as Town were relegated from the Premier League.

Peralta became a real fans favourite with his flair and passion, netting five goals in 29 games, including playing against his parent club in the famous 1-0 win at Portman Road.

He would have signed permanently had Town stayed in the top flight, but Inter wouldn’t loan him out again despite Peralta wanting a return to Suffolk to play in the second tier.

LUCIANO CIVELLI

Another Argentine in this list, who sadly had a injury nightmare in Suffolk after being signed for a reported £1m from Banfield in his homeland by manager Jim Magilton in 2009.

Civelli impressed in his early appearances, boasting a physique suited to the Championship and a touch of flair, but then suffered a serious knee injury that decimated his spell at Town.

He featured just 17 times for the Blues, before he departed the club to have spells in Paraguay and Chile. He retired from football in 2017 back at Banfield.

JEREMY SARMIENTO

The Ecuadorian was a big hit for Kieran McKenna's side as they achieved promotion to the Premier League last season, joining on loan from Brighton in January.

Sarmiento was often deployed as a super sub, scoring four goals in 22 appearances, including a memorable late winner against Southampton.

Town opted not to sign him permanently last summer and he was loaned out again by the Seagulls, this time to to Burnley, for this season.
