Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović stole many headlines with her emotional response in the rain to the aftermath of Croatia’s World Cup final loss to France.

The football-mad Grabar-Kitarovic has even gifted several world leaders – including the Pope, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin – with a Croatian World Cup shirt emblazoned with the number 9. All except for Theresa May.

We can only assume the number is in honour of legendary striker 1998 Davor Suker, and not 2018’s version Andrej Kramaric (sorry Hoffenheim fans).

However, Prime Minister Theresa May got a seemingly unique twist – her shirt has the number 10 on it.

Is there a reason for the change from tradition?

Either the president is a massive fan of Croatia captain Luka Modric, or (probably more likely) it’s an nod to 10 Downing Street – her address during her time as Prime Minister.

One other thing we did notice – the president forgot to take the price tag off! Let’s hope she bought Mrs May an official shirt.
