Pep Guardiola change has unleashed £30m Man City signing Erling Haaland 'has been yearning for'
Pep Guardiola's decision to move Savinho to the left-hand side has revitalised Manchester City's faltering season.
That is the frank view of former City defender Micah Richards who believes Savinho's impact on the left-wing in City's 4-1 win over West Ham was what Erling Haaland has been 'yearning for' this season.
Savinho joined City for around £30.8million in the summer from French side Troyes and he has largely been used on the right hand side of the front three.

The Brazilian is left-footed though and Guardiola switched him to the left-hand side in last weekend's 2-0 win over Leicester and he bagged a goal and an assist to help his side end a rotten run of just one win in 13 matches.
And the 20-year-old picked up from where he left off as he grabbed two assists in City's comfortable win over the Hammers on Saturday.
His wicked delivery from the left-hand side took West Ham's defenders and goalkeeper out of the game to give Haaland an easy header for his first goal, before Savinho then slid the Norwegian in on goal for his second goal of the afternoon.
That service to Haaland was severely lacking in their poor run of form but now the pair have combined for three goals in the last two games, City are looking up again as they look to claw their way back into the top four.
And Richards was full of praise for Savinho's delivery and the confidence he has brought back to a City side lacking in it in recent weeks.
"I thought he was excellent," Richards told BBC's Match of the Day.
"I really liked him on the left-hand side. We've been used to seeing him inverted on the right hand side but he really held his width well and Coufal found it difficult against him. For someone who is still 20, he is going to be inconsistent at times, but he looked full of confidence.
"It was nice to see his energy and confidence and this is what Haaland has been yearning for. A cross that comes in early that's whipped into the back post with a wonderful delivery."
