Pep Guardiola gives Kyle Walker update after Man City transfer request
Pep Guardiola did not rule Kyle Walker out of Manchester City's trip to Brentford despite the club captain asking to leave the club.
Walker went to sporting director Txiki Begiristain last week with the aim of pursuing a move elsewhere in the January window, amid interest from Italy and Saudi Arabia. The club are willing to let him go - as long as the price is right for a defender who is still under contract until next summer.
Guardiola did not have any news to add on where Walker will be by the end of the month, and was unwilling to dismiss the possibility of the defender turning up with the rest of the squad in West London on Tuesday night. If the right-back trains well on Monday afternoon, he could make an unlikely return.

"We'll decide after training. I said what I said and I'm not going to add anything else," said Guardiola. "I don't have anything else and Brentford is on my mind."
Brentford have been difficult opponents for City in recent seasons under Thomas Frank, and they should have picked up a win at the Etihad back in September after scoring in the first minute but wasted more chances and were eventually beaten 2-1. Guardiola believes the long time they have had with a very good manager in Thomas Frank has been central to their success.
"A long time with Thomas and in set-pieces and high pressing they are so aggressive and compact, the transitions are really dangerous so it's many years of doing really well in the Premier League," he said. "The last year was maybe not the best results at home but the trajectory in recent years was really good."
