Pep Guardiola gives Man City injury update with Oscar Bobb boost
Ederson could return to the Manchester City squad this weekend with more good news that Oscar Bobb is training.
Bobb suffered a leg fracture on the eve of the Premier League season after a promising summer, scuppering his chances of making an impact in the first half of the campaign. Pep Guardiola did not put a date on when Bobb will be back, but is happy that he has been able to return to play some part in sessions over the last week.
Ederson has also been back in training and could play his first game since the Manchester derby, but the FA Cup tie with Salford comes too soon for Ruben Dias and John Stones. Manu Akanji and Nathan Ake have been playing at centre-back, although youngster Jahmai Simpson-Pusey could feature on Saturday

"Dias feels better but he's not yet ready," Guardiola said on Friday. "Oscar is training already with the team - partial. It's not muscular, it was a bone and it's already fixed. It's good news that he's back. Ederson is fine, John Stones no."
Guardiola also did not rule out starting Erling Haaland again. The No.9 has played more than any of his teammates this season but the manager praised how available he has been.
"You will see tomorrow. he feels good. He had some niggles in the first day but we had seven days and he recovered well. With the situation that we have, we need everyone ready," he said.
"He's always ready. Sometimes you cannot perform all the time at the same level but with the injuries that we have up front Phil can play there, Oscar can play there and Macca can play here. At the end of the situations, we use him maybe more than we expect but he handled it really well."
