Pep Guardiola reveal throws spanner in the works amid Leeds United transfer interest
Leeds United will have to look elsewhere this month if they want to bolster their midfield options with Manchester City midfielder James McAtee set to stay at the Etihad Stadium. this month.
The England youth international is one of a number of names linked with a move to Elland Road before the transfer window slams shut. It was previously reported by The Telegraph that McAtee had become 'frustrated' with his lack of game-time at the Etihad Stadium.
The arrival of Omar Marmoush and return of Oscar Bobb will add further competition for places in City's squad for the second half of the season but McAtee looks set to stay at Man City after Pep Guardiola's latest reveal.

"He is such a good footballer and a lovely guy. Quite similar qualities as Phil [Foden]," Guardiola said earlier this month. "It is not easy when you don't get so many minutes for your confidence. Hopefully, we can keep James for many years."
Reported interest in McAtee from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen has gone cold after opting to sign Leeds transfer target Emi Buendia, which appeared to open the door for the Whites. City have stressed they want to keep the young midfielder, with Guardiola telling the Manchester Evening News at his recent press conference: "He's going to stay. We don't have enough players.
"We have a World Cup at the end of the season. We have a lot of games. I think he can play more minutes. There are minutes he has to fight for and continue to fight. I'm really pleased for Macca.
"At the same time, maybe an offer arrives where the club say we have to sell him. My opinion on Macca that I said to the club is clear but it is always the club and the club has to take resources and sell players and it depends on what happens."
That being said, Daniel Farke is still hopeful of bolstering his squad before the deadline. Speaking at his own press conference this week, the Whites boss said: "I like to be honest about it. I take the decision if I feel there is a player who can fit into our group. The financial aspect is for others to make, then if all boxes are ticked then we will do something.
"When we are in this position it is easier to track players. If its a loan then to be there not just a few months but for the future. If a player is just looking for game time then it's not that easy.
"You can't guarantee that. There is lots of competition. Some can be reluctant because we have really good players. It's always a bit tricky on loans because they know they are only coming for three months."
