Petr Cech makes Antonin Kinsky to Chelsea transfer admission after Tottenham debut vs Liverpool
Petr Cech has revealed that Chelsea had previously scouted new Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky during his time at Stamford Bridge. The 21-year-old signed on the dotted line in north London last Sunday after making quite the name for himself in his homeland of the Czech Republic with Slavia Prague.
Kinsky made his Tottenham debut in Wednesday evening's 1-0 Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool, duly wowing in his 90 minutes with a couple of top saves and some impressive play with the ball at his feet. Already appearing to be quite an astute piece of business from the football club, the youngster may well go on to push Guglielmo Vicario for the No.1 spot in the months ahead.
Kinsky could well have been playing his football across the capital in London had things panned out differently, however. Speaking to Flashscore, Cech, who spent time as Chelsea's technical and performance advisor following the end of his playing career, opened up on the west London club casting their eye over the shot-stopper.

"I remember the moment when Antonin Kinsky was still playing for the national team Under-16s. A game when we watched him and when we scouted him for our own club, so of course you want to see other goalies in all age groups as well," Cech said.
"You could see that he was strong, with his legs, you could see that he actually had a good starting position and he was actually helping the team at the back to launch attacks."
Kinsky has already drawn comparisons with Cech given their goalkeeping skills and the fact they both hail from the same country. That is one thing that has not come as a surprise to the former Chelsea and Arsenal player.
"Of course, he comes from the Czech Republic, and that comparison will always be there," he said. "But I think it's important that he makes his own way. Radek Cerny already made a good impression at Tottenham."
Cech came up against Tottenham numerous times during his Premier League career with both Chelsea and Arsenal. Although never playing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the former goalkeeper knows that Kinsky has the opportunity to use top-class facilities day in, day out.
"I always went there just for the game at the stadium and we always won and went back home (smiling). So it was always nice and all that," admitted the 42-year-old.
"But I have to say that the important thing here is that the facilities are great, whether it's the training centre or whether it's the stadium and I think that's where you spend most of your time, so this is important."
