Darius Slay's support system is anchored by his wife, Jennifer Slay.

The Philadelphia Eagles cornerback started dating his future wife in 2015 and they married a few years later. The couple have also grown their family by welcoming their daughter Desirae in 2017, followed by their son Desmond in 2021.

Together, Darius and Jennifer have built a blended family with the NFL star's sons Darion and Demetrius and her son Trent. Darius and Jennifer's love story began in 2015. At the time, she was completing her senior year at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she played Division II basketball.

She started making the dessert while Darius was playing for the Detroit Lions, using a recipe she learned from Elise Tate, the wife of his former teammate, Golden Tate. The dessert quickly became a locker room favorite, and when Darius was traded to Philadelphia, Jennifer decided to keep the tradition going.

“It kind of turned into a thing there,” she told The Athletic in 2023. “And then when we got here with the Eagles, I’m like, ‘You know what, why not keep the tradition going?’ Because it was something I enjoy and also something Slay enjoyed because he could brag about it: ‘My wife’s banana pudding is so good!’ ”
